Privacy Notice and Information

The following information addresses privacy as it relates to users of the Site. We are committed to maintaining the privacy of all individuals who use the “Site." We value your trust and understand that this requires that we be transparent and accountable about how we handle the information you choose to share with us. We do not trade, rent or sell the information of our Site users or of those who donate to NuChoice.

Your Legal Rights

Your experience at NuChoice is influenced by several provincial acts, including:

· the Social Work and Social Service Work Act, 1998

· the Ontario Mental Health Act, 1990, which outlines the legal rights of patients and the responsibilities of many of the individuals involved in their treatment

· the Health Care Consent Act, 1996, which governs treatment in Ontario and the system of substitute decision-making for individuals who are incapable of making their own treatment decisions.

NuChoice staff members make every effort to inform the people that we serve about their clinical condition and their treatment plan. This is to allow the people that receive service from NuChoice, or their substitute decision makers, to participate fully in treatment decisions and to protect their rights and interests.
